Chilly start in the north, wet weather slowly moving north and east

Good morning,

It's a chilly start across Scotland with some frost and icy patches. Elsewhere unsettled weather with yet more wet weather will continue to move north and east across England and Wales but will then become slow moving by late morning across parts of N England and S Scotland, some wintry precipitation possible on hills in the north.

Through the afternoon and drier and brighter weather will develop across more central and southern areas of England and Wales, but with further overcast and wet weather persisting across parts of N England and S Scotland, wintry precipitation on hills too. Clearer across central and northern Scotland with some sunny spells and isolated showers.

Low pressure will continue to dominate overnight into Friday with further showery conditions at times, perhaps especially across parts of Scotland, where wintry on hills, along with parts of central and southern areas of England and Wales. Elsewhere, perhaps especially across N England, a lot of dry weather with clear spells and locally chilly here too.

Matthew
